restful, cleaning.

you are still holy
rita.springer

holy, you are still holy
even when the darkness surrounds my life
sovereign, you are still sovereign
even when confusion has blinded my eyes
lord, i don't deserve your kind affection
when my unbelief has kept me from your touch
i want my life to be a pure reflection of your love

and so i come into your chamber
and i dance at your feet, lord
you are my savior and i'm at your mercy
and all that has been in my life up 'til now
belongs to you, for you are still holy

i came back from urbana06 in st. louis. there is so much to say about those five days, but briefly... it was an amazing experience, learning about what God has in store for me. it refreshed my mind and left me with a renewed passion of a humble servant. although there were many times where i felt overwhelmed by the vastness of opportunities, i have learned so much and there is still much for me to learn, like how my calling will fit in with the greatness of his mission. i am very thankful for my opportunity to attend urbana.

I was cleaning out the house today and I had found many interesting things. It's funny how even the smallest things from the past can stir up mixed feelings. it's nice to remember these things and to see how much I have been changed but it is also good to focus on the present and future rather than dwelling on the past. oh and here are some pictures.

how much does this cost?

i am taking a class called micro-economics at wpi. and in becoming an engineer, it was a course apart from the required classes. there is a common term called an opportunity cost, which is what you give up to get something else. for example, i am currently in college taking classes at the opportunity cost of financial loans. the opportunity cost is a major factor of how people base their decisions on different choices that are available.

after graduating from wpi... well assuming that i stay at wpi, i will most likely be thinking about what i will be doing, or i might have a job. yet, the choices is almost limitless. there are so many things i can do now and even in the future. i could go work for a company and work to live a comfortable life and help those i love.

but what is it going to look for me, a chinese american christian man, to live as jesus did? of course the opportunity cost is huge. in giving up what i have, in order to help others without asking something in return. this gift of grace is a mind blowing concept. i was listening to audioblog of urbana03, someone said, "following jesus is costly, but not following jesus is far more costly." God is the only true source of joy that lasts. all other things are just like a wave, for there is an empty feeling. if he calls me to go elsewhere, will i be ready? will i go live a comfortable life and help out of surplus? will i make excuses and ignore my calling? as i look out there, there is a lot of road to cover.

show me where you want me to go and my calling.

Not a creature was stirring

because my bro and I were playing video games. So, him and I were playing NBA on our PS2 two mornings ago. You know how the cords sometimes dangle across your feet? Well that was what I thought I was feeling at first. It didn't have a plasticky feel, but more... furry. Then my right foot started to become severly itchy . I looked down, and a flash of gray whizzed past.

"OH MAN!! KEVIN! We have COCKROACHES!" I jumped into my seat. Ok, I was pretty freaked out. The "cockroach" was on my foot! So he looked around... a mouse peered out of a box. A mouse. The first thing that came to my mind, oh man... this is like what happened at Daniel's. Kevin raced upstairs to get weapons and came down with... a tofu bucket and an electric flyswatter.

It was very hard to catch it but with Kevin's skills in handling the tofu bucket, we had succeeded! We let it go in a park. And we also discovered that mice like my mom's lemon-grass chicken. She makes good lemon-grass chicken.

We were puzzled at why it came within such close proximity with my feet... we very appropriately called it Shrewms.

Ok. That was my story. Bye, Shrewms!

tu-post!

TJ's

so TJ's (Trader Joe's) is pratically the best store that sells anything that Stop & Shop doesn't have. but the problem is that an attempt to get the coconut ice cream would end in vain due to the long transportation back home therefore leading to the melting. so...

Trader Joe's
117 Kendrick Street
Suite 700
Needham, MA 02494

Dear Trader Joe's crew,

I am an absolute fan of your store. It's not just a store, but it's like a bazaar of all different products. I have so much fun whenever I go into Trader Joe's. The uniqueness, quality, and price of your products is unbelievable! I have never seen coconut ice cream inside a coconut shell, and those frozen mango chunks make wonderful fruit shakes.

I am asking to request for a opening of Trader Joe's in the city of Quincy. Quincy is a growing city and it would make a wonderful addition to the city...

"Steady blue, clear view
Flashing blue, clouds due
Steady red, rain ahead
Flashing red, snow instead.
"

Heh, it's a mnemonic... of the Berkeley Building (old John Hancock building). that tower is wicked old but sturdy, while the new one had falling glass panels. heh. It's going to be steady red tonight.

and  "<with british accent> words are like swords, that can pierce hearts..." hahahha. true though, true.

Your're the stone I rest upon

I find peace in You
